One Week...

Although sleep deprived, we truly enjoyed our first week with our little girl. She is a blessing to be with even at 3am. We've introduced her to Max and Molly and it went better than we could have imagined. Max is in love and stays by her side at all times. If she makes any sound, he runs straight to her and checks her by giving kisses. Today we went to the doctor and checked her eyes due to alot of drainage and it appears it is just blocked tear ducts which we can clear up with an antibiotic cream. Tomorrow is her well baby check up. Adam is taking us next week to have her photos done for my Mother's Day gift. Other than that, we have just been hiding out at home together enjoying our time as a family.

Madelyn's Birth Day

Madelyn Payton Aldridge

Born May 7th 2009 at 7:10 pm
7 pounds 7 ounces
19.4 inches
Strawberry Blonde Hair
Blues Eyes

After 19 hours of labor followed by a c-section, here are some photos of our new baby girl. We are so sorry we weren't able to keep better contact with everyone but it was a long stressful delivery and then we were two tired out parents trying to get the hang of it all.

4 Days Past Due...

So we are now at 4 days past due. We have another doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon and plan to schedule a date to be induced since Miss Madelyn has no plans at this point of appearing on her own. I've been spending time getting last minute things done but I'm quickly running out of things to do. Since we don't have any baby pictures yet, I am sharing our other "baby" photos that I took this morning. And yes, one does include the squirrel that comes to visit each day.

Week 38 Update

Ok, so still no baby. We went to our checkup yesterday and there was no change so it looks like we still have some time. I was a little dissappointed but at least I still have some more time to eat all the chocolate I want and have pizza two nights a week without Adam looking at me funny.

My last day at work before maternity leave is tomorrow. It will be hard not being with my friends here everyday but I'm hoping they will all keep in touch with me while I'm at home for a few months. I've never been off work for very long before so I'm not quite sure what I will do with myself next week if Madelyn still doesn't make her appearance.

I'll let you all know next week how it's going and if I've survived daytime TV! :)

Week 37 Update

We had another doctor appointment on Tuesday and everything still looks good. We go back next Wednesday and if "conditions are favorable", they will schedule me to be induced the week of the 20th. It's getting closer and closer which makes me nervous and excited at the same time. I'll have another update next week!
